ASI in partnership with Conferences in the SAUC has embarked on a Church Development Programme. The main objectives of the partnership are:
- To sponsor needy churches engaged in the construction of new church buildings
- To collaborate with churches who are struggling to realise the completion of their church building initiatives
- To assist with church building make-overs
Both ASI and Conferences are committed to having the initiative replicated in all the Conferences. Each church building costs R500 000 inclusive of materials and labour.
It has been decided, however, to pilot the project in four conferences. Since each pilot costs R500 000 inclusive of materials and labour, the replication of the project in the remaining three conferences will cost ASI and the church R1 500 000.
Since the first pilot project has taken place in the Northern Conference, the next three pilot projects will take place in the Cape Conference (Cape area), KwaZulu Natal Free State Conference and Trans-Orange Conference.
Centres of Influence
ASI in partnership with Cape Conference is currently engaged in the construction of a Centre of Influence, a multi-purpose facility which provides for worship facilities and community impacting programmes. This facility which is the first of its kind in the SAU territory is being constructed for the Scenery Park SDA Church in East London. Click here to see pictures in our Gallery for Scenery Park.
The next similar Centre of Influence will be constructed in the KwaZulu Natal Free State Conference and the funding required is estimated at R 1 500 000.
