VP: Communications & Marketing
Function: Develops and executes a communications and marketing strategy for ASI.
Shandrell Penniken has a BA Theology degree from Helderberg College, and finishing a BBA in Marketing. Most of his career was spent in media publishing sales (over 17 years). He is deeply passionate about evangelism, church planting, discipleship, mentoring and training. He was part of the organising team for two of the biggest South African satellite campaigns, viz, Hope for Cities with Ps Mark Finley (2008) and Amazing Discoveries with Ps John Carter (2010).
God has taken him to various quarters within South Africa and even beyond its borders (Kenya, Malawi & Seychelles) to train pastors and lay leaders. He has compiled 2 training handbooks (‘How to Give Powerful Bible Studies’ & ‘How to do Effective Visitation’) and edited 2 others in the same series (‘Soul Winning Hospitality’ and “How to Establish an Effective Prayer Ministry’). He served as a full time director of a supporting ministry for 4 years, called In Touch with Truth Ministries till 2012.
He is currently working as Head of Sales for a business incubator which provides services to empower entrepreneurs (through training and coaching) to become sustainable businesses.
Shandrell loves cycling, hiking, reading, editing and travelling. He is married to Connie, and they have 2 children, Sedgeley and Kayleigh.
